What is halftone routing?
What you see on the pages of this website are photographs cut in to the surface of wood based boards. Using new technology to reproduce your old photos, made from dots, straight, or wavy lines (pictured right) to a stunning and delightfully tactile effect. Each picture is made to your requirements and can be cut to a high or low, more abstract resolution. People, pets, houses, cars etc can all be cut using modern technology. Colour can be added too, either to the board and/or the cut area creating a dynamic contrast.
PQpod's ambition is to create unique centre pieces that you absolutely love, and make a great talking point for your home, work place, wherever! I am inspired by the enthusiastic response received when people see them for the first time. PQpod will always seek to find a result that you are totally satisfied with. Included here are photos of the college degree work I did so many years ago. It was a great opportunity to work with lecturers who had rich knowledge in their fields. Phil Hussey, Ivor Jones, Peter Legg, John Turner, John Hopkins, Hugh Reed and Campbell. The course comprised of design tuition, cabinet making, machining, history, finishing, restoration, upholstery, business management. Photography and water colour painting were also given, though I never got to grips with water colour!
